This PowerShell prompt function does *a lot* to things and gives you a snapshot view of your system everytime you press enter. It will work cross-platform, but because the function is using <a title=\"read online help for this command\" href=\"http:\/\/go.microsoft.com\/fwlink\/?linkid=287299\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Get-CimInstance<\/a> to retrieve system information it needs Windows. The prompt function will not only customize the onscreen prompt but also the title bar.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jdhitsolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/image-3.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/jdhitsolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/image_thumb-3.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"644\" height=\"436\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jdhitsolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/image-4.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/jdhitsolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/image_thumb-4.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"644\" height=\"278\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jdhitsolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/image-5.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px; display: inline; background-image: none;\" title=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/jdhitsolutions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/image_thumb-5.png\" alt=\"image\" width=\"644\" height=\"347\" border=\"0\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Because this is such an extreme prompt, there is a bit of overhead.
