A Festive Christmas Message

Posted on December 24, 2015

The year is winding down and it is getting harder and harder to remain productive.  So I'm trying to combine having some fun while still trying to help you learn PowerShell.

I wrote a simple PowerShell script that randomly selects a Christmas themed quote and displays in a colorful fashion. When you run the script, which works in both the console and PowerShell ISE, you should get something like this:

A Christmas Message
A PowerShell Christmas Message

I've shared the script on Github.

Hoping you, your family and friends have a terrific Christmas and holiday season.  Rest up because we'll hit it hard again in 2016.

I am looking to thank the author of the “New-Popup” powershell function I downloaded from http://powershell.org/wp/2013/04/29/powershell-popup/. I found it useful to allow me to customize a message to users while waiting for another application to launch. I used the timeout function along with a simple “ok” button.
