Pre-Orders for Windows PowerShell 2.0: TFM

Posted on November 9, 2009July 2, 2013

PShell_Version_2_cover_100res SAPIEN Press is now taking pre-orders for the latest edition of the popular Windows PowerShell: TFM. The new version, Windows PowerShell 2.0: TFM is really the 3rd edition of our original book. Don Jones and I have worked very hard to make this the most comprehensive PowerShell resource you can have on your book shelf. Think of it like having 2 PowerShell MVPs sitting around waiting to answer your questions and teach you PowerShell.

The new version assumes you are starting out with Windows PowerShell 2.0. Of course, if you have experience with PowerShell v1.0 you can skip some of the basic sections and jump right to our material on remoting, background jobs and other new killer v2.0 features. I don’t think it’s the final table of contents, but you can check it out and see everything we're covering and what topics have been significantly revised here. This will also be the link that will have a zip file with all samples from the book once it is released.

You can pre-order through SAPIEN’s store here.  If you have questions about content or PowerShell, please feel free to leave a comment here. All other questions about the book, e-book versions or anything else related to purchasing should be directed to [email protected].

Hi – link is working today.

Did you remember to put in a TFM section on installation and setup using the new GP templates for WIndows Remote Management and Remote Shell?

So far I don’t see any books or articles covering this to any level of detail.

I don’t think there’s anything specific on those templates, primarily because WinRM is more than a PowerShell tool. But I agree there’s not much out there. I just went through the process myself the other day and realize it should be documented a bit more. It’s on my To-Blog list.
